Royal Commission extended to June 2024
Attorney-General Michaelia Cash has extended the term of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide, to allow more time for submissions from the Defence community, for data gathering and more research. The Commission’s final report is now due on 17 June 2024.
There is no word on what this will mean for an extension of the October 2022 deadline for submissions and private sessions requests yet. We will bring you this news as soon as it is available.
Chair of the Royal Commission, Nick Kaldas APM has confirmed that the Commission’s interim report will still be released in August of this year and will focus on urgent recommendations for early actions that may be taken now.
